TOKYO COLLAGE OF SUSHI & WASHOKU 東京すし和食調理専門学校
池尻大橋駅近くにある、RC造の既存校舎の改修。通りに面した1階の実習室は、学生が運営するレストランを兼ねる。
ガラスの間仕切りにより、中の様子が通りからよく見えるようにした。内外装は床を除きすべてヒノキ材で仕上げている。学生が立つ板場を舞台に見立て、視線が中央に集まるようカウンターを弧状にした。エントランスには木と強化ガラスの庇を新設し、光を取り入れる明快な構えとした。
Renovation of an existing RC building near Ikejiri-Ohashi Station. The first-floor classroom facing the street doubles as a student-run restaurant.
Glass partitions make the internal activities visible from the street. Except for the floor, both interior and exterior are finished in hinoki cypress. Treating the itaba (chef’s counter) as a stage, the counter is designed with a curve to draw all focus to the center. A new canopy of wood and tempered glass creates a clear, light-filled entrance.
