大西健俊氏が率いる食と旅にまつわる編集会社Fly inc.のオフィス。本格的なバーと撮影スタジオを併設し、イベントスペースとしても使用される。
コンクリート造と木造が混ざり幾重にも増改築されてきた元旅館の建物を改装した。既存躯体のもつ複雑性をいかし、蟻の巣のように凸凹としたひとつづきの空間をつくった。表面はすべてマホガニーの無垢材で仕上げた。
The office for Fly inc., a food and travel editorial firm led by Taketoshi Onishi. This multifaceted space integrates a professional-grade bar and a photography studio, doubling as a venue for events.
The project involved the renovation of a former ryokan (Japanese inn)—a structure with a complex history of RC and timber additions over time. By embracing this inherent structural intricacy, we created a continuous, labyrinthine interior reminiscent of an ant’s nest. Every surface is clad in solid mahogany, unifying the irregular geometry into a singular, tactile environment.
