A renovation of an apartment unit for a couple whose children have moved out, reimagining a space that once housed a family of four. The new plan eliminates the former children’s rooms and completely replaces all aging infrastructure, including mechanical piping.
Functional zones such as storage, the bathroom, and the bedroom are consolidated into integrated wooden units. By raising the ceiling—previously lowered to conceal equipment—the design maximizes the volume of the living room, where the couple spends most of their time. This creates a bright, airy space with seamless east-to-west cross-ventilation.
